Frances Margaret McElvoy, 87, of Piggott, Arkansas, passed away February 12, 2013, at the General Baptist Nursing Home in Campbell, Missouri. 

She was born on April 25, 1925, in Piggott, Arkansas, and was the daughter of the late Charles Marion and Maude Mae Barnwell Howard.

She was united in marriage to Leslie Lloyd McElvoy, Jr. on April 4, 1947, and to this union two daughters were born.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Leslie; six brothers; and four sisters.

She was a longtime member of the First General Baptist Church in Piggott, Arkansas, and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. 

Survivors include her daughters, Debby Haywood of Piggott, Arkansas, and Sandy Pace and husband Tony of Piggott, Arkansas; two grandchildren: Andy Haywood and wife Ashley of Paragould, Arkansas, and Carrie Reaves of Piggott, Arkansas; four great-grandchildren: Tanner and Leslie Reaves and Michael and Joseph Haywood; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 15, 2013, at 10 a.m. at the First General Baptist Church in Piggott, Arkansas, with Jack Cole officiating and Danny Self assisting. Burial will be in Piggott Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Van Taylor, Mike Scott, John Celmons, Randy Mikel, Terry Reaves, and Stan Moffitt. Honorary pallbearers are James Featherston, J.B. Featherston, Chartee Whaley, Jim Poole, and Delaine Burns. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements.
