Polish orchestra bringing "Christmas Around the World" to Tinnin Center | Arts & Culture
The Sinfonia Chamber Orchestra from Krakow, Poland, will perform a concert of Christmas music from around the world at 7 p.m. Wednesday, December 5, at the Tinnin Fine Arts Center at Three Rivers College in Poplar Bluff.
Admission to the “Christmas Around the World” concert will be $10.
The Sinfonia Chamber Orchestra is on a tour of Missouri hosted by The Messiah Project, a Springfield-based organization that promotes the Judeo-Christian heritage through the visual and performing arts.
The orchestra will perform a program of “Christmas Around the World” that includes traditional carols, including Silent Night, First Noel, and What Shall We Give; classical pieces Albinoni’s concerto for two oboes and strings, Vivaldi’s concerto for two oboes and strings, and Handel’s Arrival of the Queen of Sheba; plus a collection of Polish Christmas carols.
This is the 10th year that the Messiah Project has hosted a Missouri tour of the Sinfonia Chamber Orchestra performing Christmas music, but the first year it has come to Poplar Bluff.
Tickets will be sold at the door. Advance tickets and reserved seating are notavailable. The Tinnin lobby ticket booth will open at 6 p.m.
